How to Use
Product:
Mender Helper (blue
liquid)
First apply as a wetting agent on either greenware or
bisqueware until area is thoroughly wet and the Easy-Do Mender
Helper has soaked in.
Easy-Do Mender (slip-like
mixture)
Using a clean brush, dip into Easy-Do Mender and apply
to each edge of broken area. While still wet, stick broken edges together and hold or
support for at least 30 seconds. Set
mended pieces aside to dry. Clean
or sand the mended piece as you would any piece of greenware or bisqueware.
When you are satisfied with the mend, refire to cone 04.
Decorate as you like; the mend will not show. Large Items
Easy-Do Mender has no limits.
It will bond any ceramic article (bird wings, horse tails or legs,
etc.). Flowers Flowers
are easily made with the addition of Easy-Do Mender Helper to clay.
The special chemicals in Easy-Do Mender Helper will make
clay pliable like plastic. For
every two ounces of clay, add one teaspoon of Easy-Do
Mender Helper and mix together. Add
more if needed, but if too much is added, let stand in the open air, and
knead until workable. Store
in a plastic bag with a damp sponge.
It keeps indefinitely and improves with age. Filling
Cracks, Large Holes or Creating Missing Pieces
Add a small amount of Easy-Do Mender to clay and mix.
Wet the area with Easy-Do Mender Helper and roll the mixed
clay into a ball. Push the
ball into the cracked area or hole and paint in more Easy-Do Mender.
Smooth the repaired area, let dry, and clean as with greenware or
bisqueware. REMEMBER
all repairs need to be fired to clay maturity. Porcelain
& Stoneware Porcelain
can be mended! This difficult
task is made easier with Easy-Do Porcelain Mender (E-Z Blend) products.
Mix Porcelain
flowers To every two ounces of porcelain clay, add one teaspoon of Easy-Do Porcelain Mender and mix. The clay is ready when it feels like plastic. Create flowers and attach to your project by following directions for mending above. This clay will keep indefinitely in a plastic bag with a wet sponge. |
