This is a selection of my poems from my high school years to
today. Since all of my poems are very personal to either me or the
person I wrote it for, I added a narrative to each selection to show why I
wrote it.
I printed, cut, punched and assembled each book by hand.

This is a sample of a narrative and poem from
the book.
I wrote this poem while riding on a bus to
a class I was taking in downtown Portland.
The class was on desktop publishing. The day before, I had
created an image that looked like a snowflake.
As I bounced along the bus trip, I started to think how important a
snowflake can be to a child going to school, much like I was doing at the
time. That was my inspiration
for this poem.

Snowflake
I
fell upon the earth so soft,
Unique in all my grace.
A
child had wished upon a star,
For me to touch her face.
In gentle quiet through the night,
I
blanketed the ground.
Then daybreak found the cheers of joy,
From children all around.
When children go to bed at night,
So often do they pray.
To hear the magic words that say,
“There’ll be NO SCHOOL TODAY!”
